Sunday Night’s Fundraising Dinner

On Sunday night, July 22,  75 Mid-Coast concerned citizens gathered in Searsport at a fundraising dinner for Thanks But No Tank.

The cocktail hour, accompanied by live music, was followed by a short address by local small business owner Astrig Tanguay. She emphasized the fight is on-going to draw attention to the adverse effects of the mega tank on the upper Penobscot Bay region.

TBNT’s new communication manager Ken Agabian was introduced to the guests.

The three course dinner was served buffet style in the dining room and on deck of the Capt. A.V. Nichols Inn in Searsport. At the close of the evening, the raffle winner of a private sailing trip aboard the sloop Amity was announced.

Funds raised will support TBNT’s legal expenses.

TBNT would like to thank the following for their generous contributions to a successful evening:

Brenda and Michael Liston and Staff, Capt. A.V. Nickels Inn, Searsport

Martin Gottlieb and Kristen Burkholder, Musicians, Stockton Springs and Belfast

Capt. Patrick Reilly and Meg Reilly, Friendship Sloop Amity, Belfast
